James practices extensively in all aspects of insolvency recoveries and commercial disputes. He was Recommended in Doyle’s Guide as a Leading Insolvency & Reconstruction Lawyer in Adelaide for 2016.

He regularly appears as Counsel in company liquidation and Bankruptcy litigation. He advises all insolvency practitioners and creditors on a wide range of insolvency and preference-related issues. For over 20 years James acted for Australia’s largest debt collection agency and oversaw all recovery actions in South Australia for that client. In recent years he has become recognised as a specialist commercial and recovery litigator.

James is a National director and Australian Vice President of the Australian Institute of Credit Management (AICM). He chairs the legal affairs portfolio and is also a past President of the AICM SA Division. He regularly presents seminars for the Institute and other industry and insolvency groups. James represents the AICM on the ASIC Insolvency Law Reform Advisory Panel. He has lectured in commercial law at the Adelaide Institute of TAFE and is regularly invited by the Law Society of South Australia to speak as part of their specialist education program.
