Brad Richards, Barrister

Doyles Guide

Brad Richards was one of the founding members of Family Law Chambers having been admitted to the Bar in 1991. Prior to his admission to the Bar he worked as a Police Prosecutor throughout NSW specialising in complex and difficult prosecutions. Needless to say, his first experiences at the Bar involved the criminal law appearing in District Court jury trials and also on behalf of defendants in the Local Court. A substantial part of his practice also related to advising and appearing for both applicants and defendants in Apprehended Domestic Violence proceedings which were often associated with the breakdown of marriage and other domestic relationships.

Consequently it was only a short time before there was a natural transition to Family Law and related proceedings such that he has gained extensive experience in property and parenting disputes over the last two decades. Since his practice is now almost exclusively Family Law related, he is called upon to act for clients in both the Family Court and Federal Magistrates Court. Whilst the predominance of his work is in Sydney and the surrounds, he does appear interstate if required.

In 2015, Mr Richards was recognised by the Doyles Guide as one of the leading family law barristers in New South Wales, please see Doyles’ Leading NSW Family Law Barristers

If you wish to brief Mr Richards, or enquire as to his availability, or fees, please do so by contacting his Clerk, Chanel Fowler.
