Cherriee Ludemann, BDG Legal

Cherriee has more than ten years’ experience in corporate, consumer and commercial law – developed in a variety of industries, together with extensive business management experience. She has extensive experience developing and implementing business planning and strategy, specialising in company law, company secretarial, compliance and corporate governance structures.

Cherriee began her professional career as an in-house lawyer well-versed in compliance and corporate governance.  She held the positions of General Counsel and Company Secretary within a private equity sponsored, non-listed, manufacturing company, assuming total responsibility for all aspects of their global commercial, consumer, corporate and intellectual property legal services.

While holding the position of General Counsel, Cherriee worked closely with Receivers over a three year period, in Receivership, to a position where the business became sufficiently commercially viable, that it was purchased by a 3rd party.  She then worked, over the next few years, to assist in the restructure of that business.

As General Counsel, Cherriee was sometimes in a position where she engaged external legal advisors and at those times, she was acting in the position of a client.  She therefore understands your service expectations and cost pressures from the client’s side and is committed to providing superior service in order to meet those expectations.

Cherriee has well-developed skills and takes a commercial approach when advising executive management teams and company boards in relation to business strategy and legal compliance issues.

As part of Cherriee’s post graduate Master of Laws studies, she completed a project encompassing the Fundamentals of an Initial Public Offering (IPO) for which she was awarded a High Distinction.

As an adjunct to her interest in Business Law, Cherriee has been a member of the Competition and Consumer Law Committee and the Industrial Law Committee of the Queensland Law Society, since 2011. She was also been a committee member of the Australian Corporate Lawyers Association (now Association of Corporate Counsel), from 2012 to 2016.
