Dr Andrew Hanak is a member of the Victorian Bar practicing in commercial law. He has substantial experience in providing advice and appearing in matters at both trial and appellate level in Superior Courts and Statutory Tribunals. He also accepts briefs in commercial arbitration disputes (both domestic and international).
He is frequently briefed in matters arising in a complex factual or legal setting, including multi party disputes and disputes involving a substantial body of expert evidence. He is recognised as a thorough and considered advocate who pursues a strategic approach to dispute resolution.
Areas of Practice
Dr Hanak practises in all aspects of commercial law. He has been briefed in a wide range of commercial matters including disputes in the following areas: contract, corporations and securities, equity and trusts, insolvency, insurance and re-insurance, professional liability, property, mortgages and securities, torts, technology and trade practices. He has appeared in a considerable number of first instance trials. He has also been briefed in a number of appeals in the Victorian Court of Appeal and in the High Court of Australia.
