For Fiona one of the most significant and moving asbestos cases was Turner Freeman’s representation of Vivien Olsen. “She was a young woman with small children when she died of mesothelioma. As a child in Wittenoom she had played in the asbestos dust. This case showed the NSW Dust Diseases Tribunal (the specialist tribunal for hearing compensation cases for asbestos exposure) at its best. It was a moving and enormously important decision for Vivien’s family and for future claimants”. Fiona has in depth knowledge of trade unions and workers’ rights.
