Hayley Rake, Mallinson + Rake Lawyers

Doyles Guide

Hayley is a dedicated and compassionate lawyer who is committed to social justice. While a great deal of her expertise is in criminal law, her experience also spans family law, employment law, personal injury, civil litigation and all levels of court proceedings.

Hayley’s foray into the legal profession was working under one of Australia’s most esteemed criminal barristers, Charles Waterstreet. During this time she was integral to some of Sydney’s most high profile criminal cases including trial matters surrounding terrorism, murder and drug offences. Since that time, Hayley has worked for two leading law firms, specialising in the full spectrum of legal services before branching out to start her own firm.

As a result of her involvement in high profile trial matters, Hayley is extremely well connected throughout the field. She has access to some of the best subject matter experts, barristers and senior counsel available.

In keeping with her commitment to social justice, Hayley is regularly retained by legal aid to appear in a variety of criminal matters – giving people in need access to legal representation in circumstances where they may be otherwise precluded.

Hayley treats her clients with respect and consideration, helping them to understand what is ordinarily a very foreign process and set of circumstances. She has a commitment to only taking on a certain amount of work at any one time to ensure she remains accessible, efficient and capable of producing the best outcomes.

Hayley holds a BA Laws from the University of Technology, Sydney and was admitted as an Officer of the Supreme Court of NSW in October 2008. She is an active member of the Law Society of NSW.
