Joseph (Joe) Calabrese is the founder and Principal of Calabrese Lawyers.
Joe obtained a Bachelor of Arts from Macquarie University in 1996. In the same year he commenced his career in law as a legal clerk whilst also studying a Diploma of Law through the Legal Profession Admission Board.
In February 2000, Joe was admitted to practice as a Solicitor of the Supreme Court of New South Wales. He was also admitted as a Solicitor in South Australia and the High Court of Australia.
Joe is also a New South Wales Public Notary.
Prior to the establishment of Calabrese Lawyers, Joe worked in a prominent mid tier law firm, for a period of 11 years where he specialised and practiced in litigation representing some of the most disadvantaged plaintiffs against large corporations. During this time Joe’s progressed from a legal clerk to Senior Associate. Joe successfully managed many complex and lengthy litigation, some of which have generated significant public interest and media attention.
Joe has since extended his legal skills and practices in the areas of civil and commercial litigation, criminal and traffic law, and family law.
Throughout Joe’s 14 years of legal practice, he has acquired in depth experience in the Court processes and systems ranging from the Local Courts throughout New South Wales, District Court, Supreme Court of New South Wales, and the Federal Law Courts.
Given his strong legal experiences, Joe has strong negotiations skills and wherever possible strives to work together with his clients to achieve a settlement outcome which is fair and commercially sensible. He prides himself in obtaining excellent results for his clients, whilst upholding integrity to the law.
Joe prides himself on the number of positive professional relationships he has created with not only his peers but clients. Joe believes it is essential for the solicitor-client relationship to be founded upon the fundamental principles of trust and confidentiality. This mindset is why many clients keep coming back and refer others.
Joe was born in Western Sydney to Italian migrant parents. He speaks fluent Italian and has acted for countless clients in the Italian community.
Joe is a Sydney FC supporter, plays golf and enjoys travelling to the South Coast of New South Wales where he hopes to one day retire.
