Michele Sheehan, enTrustLaw

Doyles Guide

Michele is the Principal of Michele Sheehan - enTrustLaw. Her focus is on protecting family relationships through strategic estate solutions. Michele is currently the only solicitor in Queensland who is accredited by the Queensland Law Society as both a Succession Law (Wills & Estates) specialist (since 2002) and Family Law specialist (since 1996).

Michele is a highly qualified legal specialist with nearly 30 years of experience and accumulated knowledge in Succession Law (Wills & Estates) and Family Law. In the highly complex area of Succession Law, Michele is diligent and thorough in the provision of legal advice and the application of the law to provide practical outcomes.  Her focus is guiding and advising her client to resolve all relevant issues as early as possible and, if feasible, without going to Court.  Michele's approach goes beyond technical advice and guidance as she provides emotional understanding and support to her clients.  She is passionate and committed to developing and implementing strategies aimed to protect family wealth and family relationships.

Michele has extensive experience working in these areas of law with families and businesses (in particular, grazing and farming businesses) across a broad range of backgrounds extending throughout Queensland. Michele is passionate about achieving the best possible outcomes for her clients.

Michele is regarded as a leading authority in Australia with respect to her understanding of how to best address the issues which arise when succession and family law issues overlap, particularly where such issues affect blended families.

Michele is the past Chairperson of the Queensland Law Society Specialist Accreditation Board. She is also the Deputy Chairperson and a long serving member of the Queensland Law Society Succession Law Committee and a member of the international specialist association known as Society of Estate and Trust Practitioners (STEP). She has presented numerous papers and chaired many seminars throughout her career and was commissioned by the College of Law to write their will drafting study guide (which is still in use) and updated by Michele annually.

Whatever your succession challenge, Michele Sheehan uses her deep knowledge, technical expertise and insight to fully understand and analyse your situation before crafting a unique strategy for her clients.

Michele is passionate about the practice of law and assisting other practitioners.  She is a Queensland Law Society Senior Counsellor.  She is also committed to sharing her knowledge and experiences with her colleagues and is keen to encourage young practitioners in the practice of law.

Outside of the office, Michele is a keen walker and regularly maintains her interest in swimming.  She has previously participated in a number of triathlons, including the Mooloolabah Triathlon (she and her two sisters won the silver medal in the open women's team event albeit “some time ago”). Michele is also an avid reader and loves music.
