Penny has been a lawyer since 1976, working in civil litigation, crime and family law but achieving accreditation in and turning her primary focus to the latter in 1992. Since the early 1990s, Penny has held a keen interest in mediation and resolving issues prior to them reaching the conventional legal process. An holistic approach to the law, you might say.
Trained in collaborative practice and a nationally accredited mediator, Penny helped found Collaborative Professionals WA in 2007 and is also a representative on the Collaborative Practice Committee of the Law Council of Australia.
A community-minded individual, Penny has been involved in the running of numerous organisations including schools, a sporting club, a hospital and a number of associations related to the practice of law in WA. She is unlikely to bring it up but was named Senior Woman Lawyer of the Year by the Women Lawyers of Western Australia.
