A long-term Cairns resident, Suzanne Hadley was admitted as a Solicitor in 1993 after completing five year Articles in Cairns. Suzanne is a Queensland Law Society Accredited Specialist in Family Law. She has extensive experience in the fields of civil litigation, family law and criminal law, and has practiced exclusively in the area of family law and all that area encompasses for the last 15 years.
Suzanne Hadley was a member of the Management Committee of the Cairns Rape Crisis and Incest Service for five years and served as President of that Committee for a term. She also served as Secretary of the North Queensland Law Association for a number of years. She is an Independent Children’s Lawyer, appointed to assist the court in child matters across the three jurisdictions of the Family Court, Federal Circuit Court and Children’s Court in child protection matters, and is a member of the Family Law Section of the Australian Law Council, Family Law Practitioners’ Association Queensland and the Cairns Family Law Practitioners’ Association (FLPA).
Suzanne Hadley served for several years on an advisory body, reporting to the Multiple Sclerosis Society Queensland, on the needs and responses of persons with MS and is a National Advocate for the MS Society engaged actively in lobbying for the provision of improved services and support for people with MS (pwMS) including the issue of young people in nursing homes (YPINH).
Commitment to continuing legal education on an individual basis and to the community is of importance to Suzanne, and in this capacity she has spoken to students and teachers at local high schools. She has delivered papers to family law practitioners in British Columbia and Alberta, Canada and to various training groups. She is a member of the Local Consultative Group on reform in the Family Court processes and a delegate at professional conferences and seminars, constantly building on her legal education.
