In January 2015, Tessa completed a degree of Bachelor of Laws and Legal Practice at Flinders University in South Australia. Tessa was admitted to the Supreme Court of South Australia in March 2015 and to the High Court of Australia in April 2015.
Before joining Douglas Hoskins Legal, Tessa worked across her university degree as a Law Clerk in practice areas such as Wills and Estates and Commercial Litigation. Tessa has undertaken pro bono work in connection with the South Australian JusticeNet legal service in addition to Native Title work with Traditional Land Owners. In that role, she gained broad experience drafting court documents, observing pre-trial procedures and working with clients towards a non-litigious resoultion.
Throughout her University studies Tessa participated in advocacy competitions and undertook study in Shanghai, China at the East China University of Political Science and Law to develop a wide range of analytical skills across different areas of law and advocacy.
Tessa undertook her Practical Legal Training with Douglas Hoskins Legal, commencing with the firm in October 2014 and has since been working closely with Shona Hoskins in family law and estate matters.
