David practises as the in-house counsel for the specialist criminal defence firm Chester Metcalfe & Co. He is based in Melbourne and appears in contested hearings and committals, pleas, and trials. He has also appeared as junior counsel in the Court of Appeal. His practice includes a broad range of matters, such as homicides, sexual offences, offences against the person, property offences, drug offences, Commonwealth offences, as well as quasi-criminal proceedings. He gained his accredited specialisation in criminal law from the Law Institute of Victoria in December 2020.
