Derek commenced practice at a top tier law firm in 2009 after completing his Bachelor of Laws (Hons-1) and Bachelor of Arts (Hons-1) degrees at The University of Melbourne in 2008.
In 2011, Derek moved to London, United Kingdom and joined a top tier international law firm as an Associate practicing in their commercial disputes, litigation and international arbitration teams. Derek returned to Brisbane, Queensland in late 2012 where he joined a boutique litigation firm acting in a wide range of matters, including property disputes, corporate insolvency and building and construction matters.
Derek joined Ramsden Lawyers in 2015 as an Associate practicing in the litigation and dispute resolution division. Derek has practiced in commercial litigation and dispute resolution since 2009 and has acted in a vast array of commercial and other disputes including building and construction disputes, commercial and residential property disputes, complex contractual disputes, corporate and personal insolvency matters, Trade Practices and Consumer Law disputes and debt recovery.
Derek is now a special counsel at Ramsden Lawyers.
