Rebecca has practiced in the area of family law for more than 16 years. She is a Queensland Law Society accredited specialist in the area of family law, and is also a Nationally Accredited Mediator.
Her experience in family law includes dealing with parenting matters and property matters, and she has dealt with a wide array of different families. Her experience includes acting in complex parenting matters (including allegations of abuse; alcohol / drug dependency issues; personality disorders; international parenting arrangements; high conflict parenting relationships; reunification or refusal of a child spending time with a parent) and complex property matters (ranging from dealing with clients facing bankruptcy through to dealing with property pools worth tens of millions of dollars; untangling family businesses from a spouse; issues related to generational wealth and so on).
Rebecca has trained as a collaborative lawyer, and that coupled with her mediation training and accreditation makes her a unique lawyer that understands the value of negotiation and dispute resolution. On the “flip side” to this approach is Rebecca’s understanding that some families require the intervention of the Court, and Rebecca has a long history of appearing in the Magistrates Court and the Federal Circuit and Family Court of Australia. She is a skilled advocate and negotiator that utilises her skillset to gain the best outcome possible for her clients.
