Ada De Duonni, Scammell & Co

Ada specialises in Wills, Estate Planning and deceased estates and negotiating practical and effective resolutions in disputed estate matters.

Her past experience includes extensive work in commercial activity with particular expertise in contracts, trusts, funding agreements and intellectual property (IP) matters.

Before commencing her legal career, Ada worked as a Research Associate at the University of Adelaide on various research projects, with a particular focus on primary health care, treatment and prevention of depression and anxiety, respiratory health and cardiovascular disease.

Career Highlights

Ada previously worked as in-house counsel for the University of South Australia from 2007 to 2011 in which she provided legal advice to senior management and other university staff specifically in the areas of research related engagements, intellectual property law, contract law, corporate and commercial law, property law, administrative law and insurance law.

She provided strategic advice to the University for the application and implementation of the Australian Code for the Responsible Conduct of Research into UniSA Policy and other important changes in law, specifically the implications of UWA v Gray case and changes to the HERDC Specifications.

Passionate about education, Ada conducts information sessions through various community organizations to give members of the community information about the importance of having a will, powers of attorney, and advance care directives.

Ada has been member of the Cancer Council of SA’s pro bono scheme since 2012.
