William (Bill) McNally is our Managing Principal and is actively involved in the firm’s industrial practise. He has practised law for over 50 years, as a barrister and solicitor. He established the firm W G McNally & Co on 1 August 1977. Bill is able to offer our clients rare wisdom and insight gained from a wealth of experience. He is recognised and acknowledged as the country’s most experienced practicing industrial lawyer.
Throughout his career, Bill has trained many leading barristers and solicitors who have sat or now sit on industrial tribunals, federal courts and state courts. He is particularly proud of the fact that he participated in the Federal Equal Pay Case in 1969 and was one of the pioneers of compulsory employee superannuation in Australia in the 1970s.
Bill is actively involved in many of our current industrial and commercial cases, including those in Western Australia. As the Managing Principal, Bill ensures that the quality of the services and representation provided by the firm remain at the highest level by liaising with each of our lawyers in relation to matters under their control and making himself available for advice and guidance, whenever it is needed or requested.
Bill is a member of the Law Society of New South Wales, the Law Society of Western Australia and the Industrial Relations Society of New South Wales. In recognition of his many years of experience in the field of industrial and employment law, Bill was one of the first legal practitioners in Australia to obtain accreditation in New South Wales as a Specialist in Employment and Industrial Law in 1997.
