Brad Mallinson is a partner at Mallinson + Rake and has been practicing exclusively in criminal law since he entered the legal profession. His experience covers a full range of criminal matters including assault, white-collar crime, drug offences, robbery, sexual offences, kidnapping and murder. He is well regarded by Magistrates and Judges and is known for his professionalism, thorough preparation and zealous advocacy.

Brad initially started his career as a corporate paralegal for one of Australia’s big four banks, before moving to focus on criminal matters. He was an articled law clerk before eventually ascending to the role of senior solicitor with one of Sydney’s leading criminal defence firms.

Brad has experience appearing before all levels of court and regularly travels to regional locations throughout both New South Wales and Victoria to represent his clients. He also has experience in commissions of inquiry (NSW Crime Commission, coronial inquests, Royal Commissions, and ASIC investigations) as well as pursuing civil claims against the State of malicious prosecutions and unlawful imprisonment.

Brad prides himself on his dedication and empathy towards each client and is committed to coordinating a well performing defence team that delivers solid results. He believes strongly in taking an honest and pragmatic approach to client service, advising clients what the most realistic outcome will be in relation to the matter at hand. Over his many years of experience, he has built a network with and has access to some of Sydney’s finest criminal defence Senior Counsel and barristers, further helping him to build robust cases for his clients.
