Grahame Richardson SC was admitted to the Bar in July 1986. Shortly after that time he developed a keen interest in the Family Law Jurisdiction, particularly in financial cases involving issues of financial enquiry, disputed disclosure and contested valuations. Within a short time his work in other jurisdictions diminished and proceedings in the Family Court became the predominant element of his practice.

Mr Richardson was appointed Senior Counsel in November 1997. He was a member of the New South Wales Bar Association Family Law Committee from 1994 to 2015. He was appointed as Chairman of that committee in 1998 and served in that position until 2015. In 2000 he was made a fellow of The International Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers. He was a Director of the Australian Institute of Family Law Arbitrators and Mediators from 2010 to 2013. He served for five years from 1996 as a member of a New South Wales Bar Association Professional Conduct Committee.

Mr Richardson has wide ranging experience in all nature of proceedings in the Family Court and financial disputes between de facto marital couples.

Mr Richardson has extensive experience at both trial and appellate levels. He has appeared in a number of cases at first instance and on appeal that have been significant in the development of the jurisprudence of Family Law. Mr Richardson has been admitted to the Bar in each of New South Wales, Victoria, Queensland, South Australia, Western Australia and the Australian Capital Territory.
