Julie Hodge, Miller Harris Lawyers

Doyles Guide

Julie has been practising in Cairns as a solicitor since 2007, with a work background on the Legal Aid Queensland (Cairns) Panel conducting children’s and property matters, domestic violence and child protection cases as well as servicing private clients. Julie has a broad background of legal experience having practised for several years in areas of law including civil litigation, wills and estates, traffic offences, criminal compensation and conveyancing alongside her extensive family law work. Julie subsequently decided to dedicate her legal career to the practise of family law and practises exclusively in that field. Julie’s broad legal knowledge base gives her the edge when conducting family law cases for her clients.

Julie has been a member of the family law team at Miller Harris Lawyers since 2010 and handles matters at all stages, from initial advice to negotiations, mediation, drafting settlement documents (in the form of orders and financial agreements), commencing court action and conducting court cases and trials.

Julie is a trained collaborative law professional and focuses on assisting clients to resolve their family law issues (whether property or children’s matters) outside of the court system. However, she is also a skilful and experienced litigator. Julie does not apply a “one size fits all” approach but assesses each client’s case individually and provides holistic advice, tailored to achieve the best outcome for her clients (and their families).

Julie’s extensive knowledge, high level of skills and dedication to her client’s cases, was recognised in 2016 and 2017 when she was named in the list of Leading Family & Divorce Lawyers in North Queensland by the prestigious Doyle’s Guide to the Australian Legal Profession.
