Karen Espiner is a founding partner at Younes + Espiner Lawyers.
She practises exclusively in criminal and quasi-criminal matters, gaining experience at Sydney’s largest criminal defence firm before joining forces with Carol Younes to establish Younes + Espiner Lawyers.
Karen prides herself on being a tenacious advocate who works tirelessly to achieve the best possible outcome for her clients. She has appeared for clients charged with a wide range of serious criminal law matters including murder, sexual assault, kidnapping, drug offences, serious assaults and white collar crime. She analyses and explains complex legal issues to her clients in a simple, easy-to-follow way. She is well respected by the judiciary and is known for her meticulous preparation, persuasive advocacy and professionalism.
As well as appearing as solicitor advocate, when it is beneficial to do so she instructs some of Australia’s most experienced criminal barristers, putting together the right legal team to achieve the best possible outcome for your case.
Karen has a wide range of experience, appearing in the Local, District and Supreme Courts, as well as in the Court of Criminal Appeal and High Court. Karen also represents clients in the NSW Civil + Administrative Tribunal, as well as those who are required to appear for compulsory examination in the NSW Crime Commission.
Karen also has experience in Coronial Inquiries and appears for clients wishing to pursue a civil claim arising out of allegations of unlawful imprisonment, assault and malicious prosecution.
