Melanie has practiced predominantly in family law since 1995, initially in South Africa and then in Australia since 2003.

Melanie provides advice and conducts cases on all aspects of family law - property settlement, pre-nuptial and other binding financial agreements, parenting arrangements, child support and spouse maintenance for married and de facto partners, and divorce.

Melanie's collaborative training and her role as a Nationally Accredited Family Mediator equips Melanie with the skill to resolve most disputes using collaboration, negotiation and alternative dispute resolution. Melanie is respected for her ability to achieve a sensitive, structured and commercially sound resolution of financial and parenting cases (whether complex or straightforward), and also for her skill as an experienced litigator including in international financial disputes and in Hague Convention matters involving the return of children removed to overseas countries. 

Melanie provides her clients with timely, honest and practical information and advice. She arms her clients with support and resources to navigate through relationship breakdown, and move on with their lives with renewed energy and knowlege. 

Melanie holds a Bachelor in Law (Dean's Merit List). Melanie is on the Register of Practitioners in the High Court of Australia and is a member of:
