Doyles Guide

During his career as a criminal lawyer, Nick Boyden has developed a reputation amongst colleagues, clients and the judiciary as a fearsome and fearless advocate.

“Being a good lawyer is not enough these days,” Nick says. “You have to be a tactician, anticipating your opponent’s next moves.” Nick has a wealth of experience in major cases, including murder, drug importation, serious sexual assault and fraud. What sets Nick apart from others is not only his ability to strategically position a client’s case inside the courtroom, but also act as a shield outside, such as managing media. Nick has had some of the highest profile cases in Australia. He has appeared in courts at all levels, from the Local and Children’s Courts to the Supreme Court, Court of Appeal and Court of Criminal Appeal. He has also appeared in numerous coronial inquests. In addition to practising solely in criminal law for over 12 years, Nick has a wide range of experience in the criminal justice system, including:

  • Acting as an Investigation Officer for the NSW Ombudsman’s Office investigating police corruption and misconduct (during the Royal Commission into the NSW Police)
  • Juvenile Justice Officer assessing and assisting juvenile offenders in Western and South-Western Sydney, including Bankstown and Cabramatta.
  • As a caseworker at the Inner City Community Legal Centre in Darlinghurst, Sydney.
