Alastair Oxbrough is a Partner in the Dispute Resolution Group at Page Seager, specialising in construction, infrastructure and major projects. He has in excess of 17 years' experience in transactions and disputes arising in the construction and engineering, infrastructure and energy industries, advising clients from the earliest phases of projects to beyond their completion. He is experienced in all major forms of project procurement, as well as Australian and international standard form contracts. Alastair has worked on projects all over the world, having spent seven years of his career based in the United Kingdom. He has acted for a range of public and private sector clients, particularly asset management companies, contractors, public authorities and insurers. He is known for his commercial and pragmatic approach to contract negotiation, dispute avoidance and dispute resolution, having been voted by peers as one of Australia’s top construction and infrastructure lawyers in the 2014 and 2015 editions of Best Lawyers. Alastair is admitted as a solicitor in Australia and in the U.K. He is a member of the Society of Construction Law Australia, the Building Dispute Practitioners’ Society and the Resolution Institute (formerly LEADR & IAMA). He presents regularly at both public and client seminars on topics related to construction law, and is a guest lecturer at the University of Melbourne Master of Construction Law course, where he teaches the topics of pure economic loss and proportionate liability. Alastair is also a trained mediator, specialising in construction and engineering disputes.
