Patrick is a Principal of Mackey Wales Law and leads the firm’s succession planning and asset protection team and rural law team.

Patrick assists clients to find effective succession planning solutions which protect and preserve assets for the intended beneficiaries whilst also minimising the taxation and transfer duty implications which might otherwise arise. He is a leading lawyer in his chosen area of expertise and always strives to provide clients with the highest standard of service and takes the time to explain all legal matters to clients.

Specifically, Patrick prepares the following documents:

  • Wills, Powers of Attorney and Advance Health Directives;
  • Business Succession Agreements;
  • Partnership and Shareholder Agreements;
  • All forms of Trust Deeds.

Patrick also acts for rural clients in the purchase and sale of cattle properties and sugar cane farms as well as other rural law matters such as agistment agreements and land acquisitions.

Patrick is a Notary Public and a past President of the North Queensland Law Association and regularly presents seminars on all areas of estate planning and asset protection and has a special interest in the collaborative law process of settling disputes between parties in the areas of disputed Wills and estates or family disputes.
