Rose Lockie, Gadens

Doyles Guide

Rose is a recognised family law specialist who practises in all aspects of the field and serves on a number of influential committees and boards, including past Chair of the Family Law Accreditation Advisory Committee, as current member of the Victorian Specialisation Board as well as being a member of the Executive Committee of the Law Institute of Victoria’s Family Law Section, which she has also previously chaired.

She has dealt with property and maintenance settlements, liability for capital gains tax in family law settlements and the interaction between bankruptcy and family law, including priorities over creditors, and all aspects of domestic relationships (formerly ‘defacto relationships’).  Another of her specialties is acting for third parties to a marriage who have intervened in, or have been joined to, or otherwise become involved with Family Court proceedings between spouses.  Rose is additionally trained in and able to offer clients the relatively new dispute resolution mechanism known as “collaborative law.”
