Ruth grew up in Geelong. Upon completing Year 12, Ruth moved to Melbourne and obtained a Bachelor of Arts followed by a Bachelor of Teaching at the University of Melbourne. After working for several years as a secondary teacher, Ruth attended Monash University where she obtained a Bachelor of Laws (LLB). After completing Articles at a top tier commercial law firm in Melbourne’s CBD, Ruth returned to Geelong and commenced work in private legal practice.

Ruth has worked exclusively as a family lawyer since 2007 in both community and private sectors. Ruth is an Accredited Specialist in family law.Ruth enjoys assisting clients with a diverse range of family law matters. Ruth has extensive experience representing her clients in Court proceedings and in mediation settings.

Ruth is meticulous in her attention to detail and also understands the practical impact of Family Law Act orders, Intervention Orders, and written agreements upon her clients and their families. When clients are required to attend Court for their family law matters, Ruth is a confident, professional and compassionate advocate, who understands her client’s needs.

Ruth works hard to deliver positive and practical outcomes for her clients, at the earliest opportunity.Ruth is also an Independent Children's Lawyer. When acting as an Independent Children's Lawyer, Ruth is required to provide the Court with independent information that may assist the Court to decide what arrangements are in the best interests of the child or the children.
