Doyles Guide

Selina graduated from the University of Adelaide with a Bachelor of Commerce (majoring in accounting as well as corporate finance) in 2005 and a Bachelor of Laws (Honours) in 2008.  She then undertook her Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice and was admitted as a Barrister and Solicitor of the Supreme Court of South Australia and the High Court of Australia in 2009.

Since 2009 Selina has practised exclusively in Family Law and De-Facto relationships.

In 2017 Selina obtained her Master of Laws majoring in Family Law, a degree she commenced whilst continuing to work full-time at BBS Lawyers, and impressively she was awarded the Sandra Paul Memorial Award as dux of the Master of Laws (Family Law) programme.

In 2017 Selina was granted accreditation as a Law Institute of Victoria Accredited Specialist in Family Law.

From early in her career, Selina has worked closely with prominent senior Barristers both in Adelaide and interstate, on complex property settlement and parenting matters, involving the interplay of family law, civil and criminal jurisdictions, and third parties. A degree in Commerce also provides Selina a distinct advantage when advising clients in relation to complex financial matters.

Selina has also appeared as Counsel, and as a result, she has an intricate understanding of the rules of Court, processes and procedures.

Selina has developed a strong reputation for her expertise in child support matters. She has drafted many binding and limited Child Support Agreements and successfully represented clients in relation to departure and child maintenance applications in the Federal Circuit Court.

Understanding that Family Law is a specialised and forever evolving area of law, Selina has engaged in ongoing education and training to ensure a comprehensive understanding of the latest developments in family law.  Since 2013 Selina has shared her knowledge and expertise with tertiary students, by lecturing in Family Law at both the Law Society of South Australia and the University of South Australia.

Selina is an approachable and well respected lawyer, committed to achieving excellent outcomes for her clients. Her attention to detail is exemplary. When an agreement is reached through the mediation process Selina is able to draft the appropriate documentation to make the agreement legally binding, in an efficient and cost effective manner.

In addition, Selina is a member of the National Hellenic Lawyers’ Association, the Law Council of Australia and the Law Society of South Australia.  Selina is also fluent in Greek.
