Andrew is a Principal Lawyer with Anderson Fredericks Turner.
Prior to operating a law firm, Andrew was a skilled barrister. He was appointed a Crown Prosecutor at just 22 years of age (one of the youngest in the history of Queensland). Thereafter, he was appointed a Senior Crown Prosecutor aged 24 and then a Principal Crown Prosecutor aged 26. Additionally, he practised in one of Australia’s leading barrister chambers specialising in criminal law, ‘8 Petrie Terrace Chambers’.
Andrew is recommended as one of the leading criminal lawyers in Australia (Doyles Guide, 2018) and corporate and white-collar crime lawyers in Australia (Doyles Guide, 2018). His work spans criminal law, employment law and government compliance matters.
Andrew has been engaged as junior counsel in a number of successful appeals in the High Court of Australia. His appeal work includes cases concerning propensity evidence for violent and sexual offences, as well as the constitutional guarantee of jury trials for certain crimes under the laws of the Commonwealth.

Andrew is an experienced criminal lawyer who has appeared as an advocate on numerous criminal trials before the Supreme and District Courts in Queensland:
- Homicide offences: murder, manslaughter, dangerous operation of a vehicle causing death;
- Drug offences: trafficking in dangerous drugs; supplying dangerous drugs;
- Sexual offences: maintaining a sexual relationship with a child; rape; assault with intent to rape; indecent treatment of a child under 16; possessing child exploitation material; sexual assault; unnatural offences
- Violent offences: robbery; grievous bodily harm; torture; assault occasioning bodily harm; wounding; deprivation of liberty; common assault; going armed so as to cause fear;
- Dishonesty offences: burglary; fraud; stealing;
- Driving offences: dangerous operation of a vehicle.
Andrew has experience in appearing for clients before commissions of inquiry, coronial inquests and tribunals throughout Australia.
Between 2013 and 2016, Andrew appeared for survivors or others in Sydney, Brisbane and Perth before the Royal Commission into Institutional Responses to Child Sexual Abuse. Andrew
has experience in appearing before the Queensland Civil and Administrative Tribunal (QCAT) both for individuals and organisations in relation to disciplinary proceedings and other proceedings.
As part of his work in employment law, Andrew has appeared for clients before the Fair Work Commission.
Andrew has experience in assisting individuals in other specialised inquiries or commissions, such as coronial inquests and secret hearings before the Australian Crime Commission and the Crime and Corruption Commission.
