Liza Friedwald, Keypoint Law

Lawyer Gold Coast, Queensland

I am a Family Lawyer with more than 20 years of experience assisting clients through complex family law and dispute resolution matters. My practice focuses on divorce and separation, parenting disputes, property settlements, urgent injunctions, relocation and recovery matters, domestic and family violence issues, and high-conflict family law proceedings.

I also bring extensive experience in commercial and financial disputes, estate litigation, insolvency, courtroom advocacy, appeals, negotiation, and strategic dispute resolution. This broader litigation background allows me to approach family law matters with both legal precision and commercial insight.

Prior to practising as a Solicitor, I practised as a Barrister from 2010, appearing across a broad range of jurisdictions and representing clients in Local/Magistrates, District, Supreme, Appellate, Family and Federal Courts, as well as various Tribunals. I continue to conduct my own advocacy and regularly appear in interim hearings, final hearings, trials and complex family law applications.

I am passionate about helping clients navigate some of the most difficult and emotionally challenging periods of their lives with clarity, strategy and practical guidance. My approach is focused on delivering clear advice, efficient outcomes and strong advocacy, while reducing unnecessary conflict wherever possible. I understand that family law is not just about legal issues – it is about helping people move forward with confidence and stability.

I am also the co-host of the podcast “The Ex-Files: The Divorce and Separation Podcast”, where we discuss the realities of separation, parenting, property settlement and family law in Australia. Through practical conversations and real-world insights, we aim to make complex family law issues more understandable, approachable and accessible.
