Stephanie Martyn, Southern Waters Legal
Stephanie Martyn is a Senior Associate at Southern Waters Legal, practising across Family Law and Property Law. She is also trained as a Family Law Collaborative Solicitor and provides strategic and practical advice to clients navigating a broad range of family and property matters.
Stephanie has significant experience in Family Law, Property Law and Conveyancing, with particular expertise in matters where family and property law intersect. Her Family Law practice includes parenting matters, property settlements, divorce, child support and asset protection, including Binding Financial Agreements.
In Property Law, Stephanie advises on residential conveyancing, off-the-plan transactions, family law and related-party property transfers, transmission applications, notices of death, severance of joint tenancies and alterations of interests on title. She also advises on independent mortgage and guarantor matters, commercial and retail leasing and refinancing.
Stephanie takes a pragmatic and solutions-focused approach to resolving matters and works closely with other professionals where required to achieve practical outcomes for her clients. As a collaboratively trained solicitor, she is experienced in alternative approaches to dispute resolution and seeks to minimise unnecessary litigation where appropriate. When proceedings are required, Stephanie has experience appearing before the Federal Circuit and Family Court of Australia.
Stephanie holds a Bachelor of Laws and Bachelor of International Studies (Politics) from the University of Wollongong and a Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice. She was admitted as a solicitor of the Supreme Court of New South Wales in 2018 and is admitted to practise in the High Court of Australia.
Stephanie’s work has been recognised by Lawyers Weekly, including being named Property Lawyer of the Year at the 2026 Australian Law Awards. She was also a finalist for Property Lawyer of the Year at the 2025 Australian Law Awards, Family Lawyer of the Year at the 2025 30 Under 30 Awards and Real Estate Lawyer of the Year at the 2026 30 Under 30 Awards.
