Nathan was admitted as a legal practitioner in 2010 and commenced practice at the private Bar in 2019. He regularly appears in the Federal Circuit and Family Court of Australia and in State Courts, with a practice spanning family law, domestic violence matters, estates litigation and a broad range of civil disputes.
Nathan is also a Nationally Accredited Mediator and Family Dispute Resolution Practitioner, frequently engaged to mediate family, civil, employment and estates matters. His alternative dispute resolution practice includes extensive mediation work throughout regional Queensland, together with the development of an Adult Restorative Justice Conferencing practice where those matters are suitable.
Although his mediation work spans multiple disciplines, Nathan was recognised in the 2025 & 2026 Doyles Guide ‘Leading Family Law Mediators… Regional Queensland’ as a recommended mediator, acknowledging the mediators identified by Queensland’s family law solicitors for their expertise and skill.
Before joining the Bar, Nathan served Australia as a Naval Officer, Infantry Officer and Legal Officer in the Australian Defence Force, and previously as a Constable in the Queensland Police Service. He has a deep understanding of the pressures associated with service-life and is regularly briefed to assist current or former serving personnel as both advocate and mediator.
Nathan completed his legal training at Bond University, graduating with a Bachelor of Laws with Honours and a Bachelor of Arts majoring in criminology and international relations. He also holds a Master of Business Administration from Charles Sturt University.
Nathan is committed to supporting the development of the next generation of lawyers. Known for his personable and grounded approach, he taught the Negotiation subject at Bond University in 2024 & 2025 and continues to mentor emerging practitioners as a Sessional Academic at QUT.
Outside his legal practice, Nathan is an avid adventurer, Brazilian jiu jitsu aficionado, and motorcycle enthusiast who enjoys making the most of South-East Queensland.
