Amy Fels, Kerr Fels

Amy is a Director of Kerr Fels Divorce & Family Lawyers. She has a Bachelor of Laws from the University of Western Australia and is admitted as a practitioner in the Supreme Court of Western Australia and the High Court of Australia. She is an Accredited Family Law Specialist and has been recognised as a Recommended Family & Divorce Lawyer and also one of Western Australia’s Recommended Family Lawyers with respect to Parenting, Custody and Children’s Matters by Doyle’s Guide.

Trial can be incredibly stressful and expensive for clients. Amy has a special interest in resolving proceedings through strategic planning, negotiation and mediation, including working with other professionals and experts to procure a settlement and avoid trial wherever possible. She frequently conducts her own interim hearings with a view to preparing and implementing a case strategy early in the matter to set the scene for the best chances of settlement.

Prior to establishing Kerr Fels with fellow Director Denby Kerr, Amy was a solicitor at one of Perth’s largest family law firms. Amy regularly appears in the Family Court of Western Australia as well as the Court of Appeal and Magistrates Court.

Amy is an elected Councillor of the Family Law Practitioners’ Association of Western Australia and also sits on their Events Subcommittee. She is a member of the Law Society of Western Australia, and is an active supporter of the Piddington Society.

Amy volunteers at the Women’s Legal Service evening legal clinics, advising disadvantaged women in relation to family law property matters. She enjoys renovating her home, going to the dog beach and having long dinners with family and friends.
