Anthony Strahan QC is an experienced trial and appellate advocate. He works predominately in general corporate and commercial law, insolvency, class actions, insurance, banking and finance, fraud, equity and property. Additionally, he has extensive experience in defamation and media law. He also appears in public law and judicial review cases, domestic and international arbitrations and in complex personal injury actions. He has been leading counsel in numerous complex trials and appeals. He also acts for parties in connection with Royal Commissions and inquiries.
He has experience with the telecommunications, banking, media, oil & gas and pharmaceutical industries, among others. He acts frequently in proceedings involving regulatory authorities. He has appeared in disciplinary proceedings and in applications for injunction, stay, anti-suit injunction, freezing orders and Anton Piller orders. He also has experience with issues related to Aboriginal cultural heritage.
From 2001 to 2003 he was an associate with Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer in London. Prior to that he worked for Minter Ellison in Melbourne. He is a member of Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (MCIArb). He is also a member of the Federal Court of Australia’s User Group for the Corporations and Commercial National Practice Area.
