Avi Levy is a graduate of the UCLA School of Law and has been practicing family law exclusively since 2002. He graduated cum laude from the University of California, Los Angeles, with a B.A. in political science. In 2011, he became certified as a family law specialist by the State Bar of California, Board of Legal Specialization. In 2020, Mr. Levy was inducted as a Fellow of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers (AAML) and in 2021 he was inducted as a Fellow of the International Academy of Family Lawyers (IAFL).
Mr. Levy has devoted his legal practice to the fierce and zealous advocacy for his clients. Throughout Los Angeles County and California, he is known for specializing in high net worth and high conflict cases which require the utmost discretion. Mr. Levy brings a unique set of skills to each family law matter he handles. His clients receive the benefit of his “out of the box” strategic planning which either brings the case to settlement or prepares it well for litigation. Mr. Levy thrives in the courtroom setting (both public and private judging) with an exceptional ability to understand complex legal issues and persuade the bench. Mr. Levy is particularly skilled at working with and guiding financial experts in cases that require an income analysis, business valuation, separate property tracing, or other complicated financial analysis. In addition to settling and trying hundreds of high asset divorce cases, Mr. Levy also handles premarital agreements, postnuptial agreements, contempt proceedings, domestic violence proceedings, parentage actions, family law appeals, and civil harassment proceedings.
Mr. Levy’s impressive work extends beyond the courtroom. He is heavily involved in local, state, national, and international family law organizations. Coupled with his leadership involvement, Mr. Levy has had the honor of serving as a presenter on educational panels for other family law professionals on the issues of attorney fees and costs, date of separation, and discovery. Mr. Levy is passionate about his family law practice and how the law impacts his clients. He has testified before the California Assembly and California Senate Judiciary Committees on numerous occasions in connection with pending family law legislation.
