Bill is an experienced commercial litigator, adviser, and the co-founder of William Roberts Lawyers.

Bill is the national head of the class actions team at William Roberts, where he also works alongside institutional and corporate clients.

Bill has led both claims and defence teams in many complex litigated disputes as well as managing and coordinating repeat routine claims and defence work. Bill is regularly called upon to act by clients in strategically important matters that significantly impact their business.

Bill’s commercial litigation and advisory experience is broad and includes:

  • Acting for corporate clients in contentious and complex commercial disputes (single party and class actions), including disputes to the value of hundreds of millions of dollars concerning contracts, torts, trade practices, corporation’s issues, breaches of trustee obligations;
  • Acting for financial institutions in contentious wholesale funding disputes, enforcement, regulatory, contracts and guarantees, corporate insolvency and personal bankruptcy, including disputes in respect to allegations unconscionable conduct, misleading and deceptive conduct;
  • Acting for insurers in respect of disputes involving, tort/property damage and economic loss, building and construction, supply contracts, class action claims, policy coverage and fraud;
  • Acting for and advising liquidators, administrators and receivers from major accounting firms concerning company administration, including the negotiation and preparation of deeds of company arrangement, breach of directors’ duties and recovery of compensation for the benefit of creditors from voidable transactions and insolvent transactions.
