Brian is a highly esteemed solicitor in the Canberra region, where he has been practicing for over 40 years. With his wealth of experience, Brian is committed to providing clients with in-depth and practical advice. Brian’s friendly demeanour and highly regarded capabilities has led him to managing the legal affairs for generations of local families.
Brian has experience across all matters of the law. In recent years he has chosen to specialise in Estate Planning and Commercial Law and assists clients with:-

- The acquisition and sale of small to large businesses;
- Shareholder and Partnership Agreements;
- Franchising;
- Business Estate Planning;
- Testamentary Discretionary Trust Wills;
- Wills and Enduring Powers of Attorney; and
- Deceased Estates (including administration).
Brian was named as one of Canberra’s Preeminent Lawyers in Wills, Estates and Succession Planning by the Doyle’s Guide to the Australian Legal Profession released in October 2017.
He has a strong relationship with the Canberra legal community and has served as a Senior Counsellor of the Law Society of the ACT for many years. In that role he offers guidance and support to other members of the legal profession.
Brian has played an important role in changing the ACT legal system for the better in his specialty areas of commercial leases and Powers of Attorney. He is a former Chair of the ACT Law Society’s Commercial & Business Law Committee, and was instrumental in making submissions to the ACT Government on the Powers of Attorney Act 2006.
He is also a former chair of the Law Society’s Tenancy Code Committee which worked closely with government and other industry groups to draft legislation in the ACT on commercial leasing.
Brian regularly presents seminars for Legalwise and the Law Society of the ACT on his areas of expertise, including practice management, commercial leases, estate planning and testamentary trusts.
Brian is married with four children and three grandchildren. Outside of the law, his hobbies are golf, gardening and photography, which he pursues with much passion but arguably less talent!
