Chris is a Principal of the Mclnnes Wilson Lawyers Commercial team with 20 years of experience in the legal sphere. He is one of five Queensland Law Society Accredited Specialists in taxation law and is a Chartered Tax Adviser with The Tax Institute.
He has worked for Ernst & Young Tax within their International and Media Group and later for Blake Dawson Waldron (now Ashurst), as a member of the firm's corporate advisory group. Since that time, he has also worked for two years in the London office of SJ Berwin (now King & Wood Mallesons), specialising in taxation matters affecting private equity funds and property funds.
His key focus is on transactions; he is a valued advisor in their understanding and characterisation. Once the intent of a transaction is understood, applying the law becomes morecertain for the client and consistent with the commercial drivers.
Chris regularly seeks out opportunities to assist not-for-profit entities or non-governmental organisations as his way of giving back.
