Courtney works in the areas of Family Law and Estates. Having worked at Legal Aid ACT and in smaller specialist family law firms prior to joining us in mid-2015, Courtney brings significant experience in the areas of dispute resolution and litigation. She knows ‘we do it differently’ here. Courtney has run complex parenting and property litigation, but is our in-house expert for cases involving complex risk allegations and mental health issues in parenting matters and cases involving Care & Protection. She has a particular strength for dealing with such issues, on both sides of the matter.
Courtney works empathetically with clients to recognise their objectives and goals and will tailor their choice of process and case strategy to reflect this. Courtney approaches all aspects of her work constructively, with a view to facilitating an agreement and implementing an innovative solution before recommending litigation. She is also mindful that the impact of a relationship breakdown is far reaching and often involves clients dealing with non-legal issues.
Volunteering at the Women’s Legal Centre ACT is something Courtney feels passionately about. Courtney is also on the committee for the Canberra Region Family Law Professionals Association.
real person
Courtney always has a smile on her face and is rarely spotted without a colourful jacket, floral skirt or bright lipstick. She enjoys a good red wine, charity golf days and cooking up a storm in her family’s annual MKR series. Courtney has recently gone back to playing basketball, and can still defend like a champ.
