Magpie Family Law, Daniel Brownlie

Daniel Brownlie is a family lawyer in Ballarat and the founder of Magpie Family Law. He practises exclusively in family law and has helped hundreds of families navigate separation, both in and out of court.

Daniel helps clients with property settlements, divorce, financial negotiations and preparation for mediation. He also prepares and advises on binding financial agreements and prenups, including agreements prepared by another solicitor.

His approach is firm, practical and approachable. He takes the time to understand each client’s circumstances, explain their options clearly and guide them through the next steps with integrity and understanding.

Daniel comes from a multigenerational farming family with a background in the cotton industry of the Darling Downs and Central Queensland. He began his legal career at McNamara Law, initially focusing on property, small business transactions and commercial litigation. His work subsequently moved into family law, where he found the challenging and rewarding practice he was looking for.

That combination of farming experience and commercial legal work informs his approach to the financial issues that can arise when a relationship ends.
