Denis has been a family lawyer for more than 40 years. We like to think he is the ‘Babe Ruth’ of family law in Australia. He is a brilliant advocate and passionate about helping his clients. Denis is recognised as a leading authority nationally in complex property matters, and he also runs many parenting cases.
Denis is a past president of the ACT Law Society and was the ACT representative on the Executive of the Family Law Section of the Law Council of Australia. We regularly engage him as in-house counsel for our clients. He has represented family law and legal aid issues in a number of forums including before parliamentary committees.
On a day to day basis Denis brings his excellent knowledge of the law and a genuine desire and ability to help his clients resolve family law matters in a way that avoids unnecessary antagonism. He is committed to finding fair solutions. When we get around to establishing an FGD hall of fame there is little doubt he will be the inaugural member.

Denis is a former elite level baseballer. He still hits a long ball on the golf course and frequently hits it reasonably straight. Denis has a lovely singing voice, which he occasionally shares with us, and has saved the FGD choir and the Christmas song from being a complete shambles on many occasions. He is an avid dog lover and has an uncanny knowledge of trivia (particularly baseball related). He is known for his trademark red socks.
