Her extensive experience in facilitating mediations has shaped her pragmatic, solutions focused approach to resolving family conflict. Elisa understands how different each family situation can be. She is particularly sensitive to circumstances where parents and children are vulnerable, including mental health, substance use, family violence and high conflict or complex parenting arrangements.
Throughout her career, Elisa has supported many clients affected by family violence, whether as victims, alleged perpetrators, or as participants in mediation. She understands the intricacies of managing parenting and property disputes where allegations of violence are made, ensuring her clients feel supported and informed at every step.
Elisa enjoys helping clients with property settlements and financial agreements, including pre, during and post relationship financial agreements, She prides herself on resolving most property matters without the need for court proceedings. In recent years, she has successfully helped several clients and their children to relocate outside Victoria, even in the face of strong opposition from the other parent.
While Elisa’s skill set makes her highly effective at settling matters out of court, she is equally tenacious in litigation when it serves her clients’ best interests.
Elisa is a member of the Law Institute of Victoria (LIV) and the Law Council of Australia, and she volunteers with the Women’s Information and Referral Exchange (WIRE). She also serves on the LIV Family Violence Working Group.
What truly sets Elisa apart, however, is her lived experience. Having spent more than a decade navigating the court system as a parent in contested parenting proceedings, Elisa brings compassion, insight and real-life understanding to her clients’ experiences.
