Evan James, 11 Garfield Barwick Chambers

Evan was called to the Bar in 2014, and specialises in Criminal Law, Mental Health law and the associated Tribunals, Sports Law and the associated Tribunals as well as matters involving urgent IVF applications for the extraction and use of post-humorous gametes. 

Evan commenced as a solicitor in May 2010 with a large Sydney Criminal law firm after previously working with the firm as a Law Clerk for a number of years.

He regularly appears in the Local, District and Supreme Courts, as well as appearing in Royal Commissions and other such Commissions of inquiry, including the Northern Territory Inquiry into Stella Maris, for Scouts NSW in the Royal Royal Commission into Institutional Responses to Child Sexual Abuse, the NSW Crime Commission, the Australian Crime Commission, the ICAC, and various Coronial Inquests. 

Evan has also appeared in such tribunals as the Racing Appeals Tribunal, Administrative Decisions Tribunal (now NCAT) and regularly appears at the Mental Health Review Tribunal and Parole Board.
