Maria Lamattina, Lamattina Legal

Maria Lamattina is the Principal Barrister and Solicitor of Lamattina Legal (formerly Perth Commercial Lawyers).

Maria Lamattina has practised as a barrister and solicitor in Western Australia since 2002. Maria’s key areas of expertise include corporate law and governance for businesses, charities and Aboriginal corporations, commercial ventures and social enterprises, native title, Aboriginal heritage, construction, energy and administrative law.

Maria works with a range of clients, including individuals, not-for-profit organisations, small businesses, government entities and large corporations. Maria has worked in private practice and as in-house counsel and company secretary. Maria has also held various positions on not-for-profit Boards. Maria has a proven background as an advocate in a range of dispute resolution settings including in various Tribunals and State and Federal Courts. Maria has worked locally and internationally and is skilled in working with clients from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds.

Maria is a member of the Law Society of Western Australia, the Australian Institute of Company Directors and the Institute of Community Directors Australia. Through Lamattina Legal, Maria provides pro bono legal assistance to Aboriginal corporations as part of the LawHelp Panel coordinated by the Office of the Registrar of Indigenous Corporations. Maria is also a current director and company secretary for newly formed Ashiana Humanitarian Network Limited which aims to support refugees and asylum seekers in Australia and related communities in their home countries. Maria was recently awarded the Attorney General's Community Service Law Award 2023 for her contributions to the community.
