Matthew Hicks, HOCW

Matthew Hicks is a Director and Principal Lawyer at HOCW, with more than 30 years’ experience in commercial litigation and insolvency. A Law Institute of Victoria Accredited Specialist in Commercial Litigation, he advises companies, directors and business owners on complex disputes, insolvency and strategic commercial issues.

Matthew regularly represents clients in Victorian and Federal courts and tribunals in contractual, business, property and leasing disputes, bankruptcy, insolvency and domestic building matters. He is also an experienced negotiator and mediator, focused on managing disputes efficiently and achieving commercially practical resolutions.

His leadership roles within the Law Institute of Victoria and involvement with the County Court Rules Committee reflect his longstanding contribution to commercial litigation practice.
