Michael Small is the Director responsible for the Family & Relationship team and the Business & Estate Planning team and has extensive experience in family law, taxation law and business law. He is regularly recognised by Doyles Guide in the categories of Leading Family Lawyers - Gold Coast (2014 - 2019), Leading Family Law Firms - Gold Coast Small Myers Hughes (2014 - 2019) and Leading High-Value Complex Property & Commercial Matters Lawyers - Regional Queensland (2014 - 2019).

Michael has been selected and recognised by his peers for inclusion in the 12th Edition of The Best Lawyers in Australia in Family Law (2020 Award).

Michael holds a Bachelor of Laws degree and was admitted as a Solicitor in Queensland and New South Wales in 1991. He is an Accredited Family Law Specialist and one of the few Lawyers in Australia to have a Post Graduate Diploma in Family Law. Michael is also a Chartered Tax adviser, who together with our tax team seeks to incorporate tax effective solutions into his clients overall strategy.

Michael's practical and commercial approach to problem solving, makes him a valuable asset to his clients, their families and their businesses.

Michael's priority is to work with clients to identify their objectives, with a particular focus on structuring property and business transactions with an emphasis on tax efficiency.
