Paul Miller heads up Deutsch Miller’s Corporate practice.
Paul has over 20 years’ experience working locally and internationally and has been based in London and Sydney for almost equal periods of his career.
Paul is passionate about being an owner of Deutsch Miller and creating an exceptional internal culture, which he sees as integral to the firm’s delivery of a premium legal service. He also believes that being a business owner helps him better relate to and empathise with his clients and the issues they face.
What makes Paul unique as a corporate lawyer is his natural ability to develop deep, long term relationships with his clients and also, where possible, collegiate relationships with professionals and clients on the other side of transactions, which in many circumstances leads to a more efficient process and effective outcomes in the best interests of his clients.
Paul’s major areas of specialisation include: corporate and commercial law, including mergers and acquisitions (public and private), corporate advisory, capital raisings (both on and off market), IPOs, venture capital/private equity, MBOs/ MBIs, shareholders agreements and joint ventures, inbound investment, restructuring, Employee Share Plans, corporate governance and drafting and negotiating a wide range of commercial agreements.
Paul provides the full range of corporate and commercial advice to private and public companies on their mergers and acquisitions and fundraising requirements, as well as on a range of commercial contracts. Paul’s strong reputation sees him consistently sought out for transactions in the technology and education sectors.
Paul is also very passionate about advising and assisting owner managers of businesses (in what may be their defining corporate transaction), serial entrepreneurs and a variety of investors.
When he’s off-duty, Paul can be found spending time with his wife and two daughters and also attempting, with varying success, to play football (English variety), tennis and golf.
