Peter is highly regarded in the industry in the area of Compulsory Third Party insurance
Peter joined Curwoods in March 2004, having practised at Blake Dawson Waldron for a number of years. He played an instrumental role in strengthening the firm’s CTP practice and was appointed a Partner in July 2005.
Peter was the author of the CCH Motor Accident Practitioners’ Handbook from 2001 to 2016. He is a Law Society of NSW Accredited Specialist and has served on the Accredited Specialist Advisory Committee since 2011.
From March 2004 to June 2009, Peter served as a Claims Assessor.
In September 2013, Peter obtained National Accreditation in Mediation.
In March 2017, Peter became a Graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
Peter is a member of 2014 Motor Accidents Assessment Service (MAAS) Reference Group which enables cross-industry and stakeholder consultation on MAAS specific policy and procedural changes, with the aim of maintaining continuous improvement in the timely and cost effective resolution of CTP disputes.
Peter has had numerous articles published in publications such as the Law Society Journal, Direct Link and the Australian Insurance Law Bulletin. He has been a frequent presenter at the NSW State Legal Conference since 2001, and has also presented seminars at the request of the University of NSW and LAAMS. Peter has twice given presentations to the Australian Plaintiff Lawyers Association from a defendant lawyer’s perspective.
