Philippa is a criminal and commercial litigation lawyer. She is a Law Society Accredited Specialist in both Advocacy and Criminal law and has Bachelor Degrees from the University of Otago in Arts and Law. Philippa is also the President of the Northern Beaches Law Society.
Her areas of practice include commercial and civil litigation, criminal and traffic law and personal injury. She has over 20 years’ experience of appearing in Local and Superior Courts and is on the general and serious criminal law panels.
Philippa was admitted as a Barrister and Solicitor of the High Court of New Zealand in 1993. She practised in Hamilton New Zealand as a criminal and family lawyer for 5 1/2 years before moving to London where she worked as a Locum Social Services Solicitor.
She settled in Sydney in 2000 when she was admitted to practice as a Legal Practitioner of the New South Wales Supreme Court. Since that time she has worked as a litigation and criminal lawyer in established Manly law firms before establishing Medcalf Grant Lawyers in July of 2007.
