Richard a’Apice, Makinson d’Apice

Richard has 40 years of legal practice experience. He acts for universities, charities and religious orders across their diverse affairs, in particular corporate governance, disputed benefits under wills, trusts, and in complex planning, environmental and property issues.

Richard is a member of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (UK) and is often appointed by the Supreme Court (NSW) to represent disabled or under-aged litigants in trust matters, to represent classes of beneficiaries and potential beneficiaries and to act as trustee for the sale of property.

He is a former Court appointed Arbitrator and an Accredited Mediator, Chairman of the Lord Mayor Clover Moore MP Salary Trust, President of the Australian Heraldry Society, principal author of the New South Wales State Arms, Symbols and Emblems Act 2004 and works on the Law of Arms of Australia.

In 1996, Richard was made a Member of the Order of Australia in recognition of his community work.
