Stacey Tyrrell, Culshaw Miller

Stacey Tyrrell set her heart on being a lawyer while still a school girl in Whyalla. She knew even at that early age that she wanted to make sure ordinary people could get access to justice. And she was looking for challenging work that connected her to her community.

That early ambition has been well and truly fulfilled.

Stacey moved to Adelaide at 16, completed two degrees (the first before she turned 20!), and then moved back to her home town. She joined Johnston Withers in 2011, after a short stint as a criminal lawyer at the Aboriginal Legal Rights Movement, and now heads up the firm’s Whyalla office.

Stacey left Johnston Withers in 2015 to travel and work in Europe and returned to Whyalla late 2018 with her young family and resumed working with Johnston Withers in February 2019.

Stacey practices across a broad range of areas including criminal law, family law, wills and estates, personal injury and commercial law. She loves advocacy work and regularly appears in the Magistrates Courts and District Court on her clients’ behalf. She has a deep understanding of the unique legal, and practical, issues facing rural and regional families and businesses.

Outside of the law Stacey’s interests include spending time with family, playing netball, yoga and travel.
